The European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research (EMPIR) has enabled European metrology institutes, industrial and medical organisations, and academia to collaborate on a wide variety of joint research projects within specified fields: Industry, Energy, Environment, Health, SI, Fundamental, Normative, Research Potential, Support for Networks, and Support for Impact Projects. Annual EMPIR research calls between 2014 and 2020 funded 245 projects, each running for 3 years (up to 5 years for Support for Networks projects), with the last ending in 2024. These projects (further information) were supported by 600 M euros of funding from the European Union and participating member states. EMPIR has built on the successful European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP) and is followed by the European Partnership on Metrology (Metrology Partnership). The Metrology Partnership programme continues to support measurement research projects in the fields of Health, Green Deal, Integrated European Metrology, Fundamental, Industry, Normative, Digital Transformation and Research Potential. The Metrology Partnership also provides support through coordination and support projects. Visit the Metrology Partnership participant portal for further details of how to become involved in future Metrology Partnership calls. |
